Arthi's Kalalayam
Nurturing Tradition, Cultivating Talent: A dancer’s attempt to unveil the Transcendent Essence of Bharatanatyam.
Originating from the temples of Tamil Nadu, Bharatanatyam is an ancient classical art form. It comprises two main components: Nritta, characterized by pure dance and intricate footwork, and Natya, involving emotive storytelling.
Bharathanatyam is renowned for its expressive and intricate movements, rhythmic footwork, and storytelling conveyed through mudras (hand gestures), abhinaya (facial expressions), and body language. Accompanied by Carnatic music, performances frequently depict Hindu religious themes and mythology.
